ABOUT US

Active Balance Physical Therapy was established in December of 2015 in a small room at the Tongue River Community Center in Dayton. The business has grown from a small room into a full building now owned on Main St in Dayton. It has been rewarding to be able to offer physical therapy services in Dayton to save so many people in the Tongue River Valley from having to make another "trip to town." We often hear these words of appreciation from our patients that they don't have to drive far to get good physical therapy care.

ABPT uses a different approach to rehabilitation by focusing on the whole body to get to the root of the issue. It is too often that we find the root of the pain/problem is not where we feel the pain or dysfunction. Every patient receives manual therapy whether it is stretches, soft tissue mobilization, joint mobilization or muscle energy work. Treatments also consist of a program to follow at home to get you back to optimal function in your daily lives.

Here at Active Balance Physical Therapy we strive to help our patients discover movement as medicine!

OUR TEAM

Lisa Stutzman
Owner + Master of Physical Therapy

I have been practicing physical therapy since graduating from University of Iowa in 1996. I have worked in a variety of fields including outpatient, inpatient, skilled care, home health, industrial rehab, sports, and schools. I enjoy evolving my treatments by learning new techniques and focusing to improve my skills with each patient. I enjoy being a physical therapist because I can take the time to get to know my patients in multiple ways which can only help to progress in their rehabilitation.

I am married to Mark, and we have 4 children who are in college, middle school, and high school. Outside of work, my life is busy with kids' activities, camping, hiking in the mountains, and traveling when possible. I have really enjoyed becoming part of both the Ranchester and Dayton communities and we feel very blessed to be here.

Doctor of Physical Therapy

I have been a physical therapist since May 2019 when I graduated from University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska. I am originally from Nebraska and will always bleed Cornhusker red, but have loved living in Wyoming since I graduated. I have worked primarily in orthopedic physical therapy but have also taken additional education to treat the pelvic floor and perform functional dry needling. I love guiding women through the ups and downs of pelvic pain and leakage, the journey of pregnancy and postpartum, and many other conditions to seek out a pelvic floor physical therapist! One of my favorite parts about being a physical therapist is helping someone realize that movement can be a solution to the pain or dysfunction they have and being the guide to help them achieve their goals.

My husband, Kurt, and I recently married in June 2022 and are excited to make the Tongue River Valley our home. We enjoy all the outdoor recreation that the area has to offer and I am a lover of hiking, camping, skiing, and kayaking. I enjoy weightlifting, running, reading, live music, and great food and drinks. I can’t wait to help the community return to activity and remain active in their lives!

My husband Luke and I moved to Dayton in 2010 to be part of his parents ranch. We enjoy ranch life, horses, team roping, back country snowmobiling and being out in Wyoming’s beauty!

HAPPY CLIENTS

"Lisa is amazing. She has helped in my recovery from a long illness. I am stronger than even before I became ill. I especially appreciate that she explains what she is doing and why. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs physical therapy."

"If you have orthopedic issues, Lisa Stuzman is the physical therapist for you.  Not only is she highly trained, she is sensitive, intuitive and curious. Lisa incorporates effective manual modalities into her treatments which are designed to move you forward.  She evaluates your individual progress and capabilities rather than some insurance driven boilerplate expectation. Lisa has helped move me forward after a difficult shoulder fracture. As a health care professional myself, I wouldn't work with anyone else. "
